Speaking of Who Spider-Man Loves …

You must have heard of this: Spider-Man and Obama.

Bonus: my favorite wingnut blogger, Allahpundit, is infuriated and makes a bonehead factual error. Right below the block quote. It’s a corker.
He’s a smart, fair-minded man, but only within the limits permitted by his core belief: that life is all about liberal hypocrisy and media tolerance of same. Funny to see how the idea operates on him; it bends his thoughts around like a neurosis.

  1. Applying real-world politics to the Marvel Universe just leads to confusion.

If I had to describe the politics of the MU, I’d say it’s not liberal so much as old-school Truman Democrat. There’s a streak of big government paternalism combined with an assertive, even militaristic, view of foreign policy.

  2. His last line is pretty funny if you’ve been reading All Star Superman. Issue #9 saw some evil Kryptonians come to Earth and try to take over, etc. The name of the male: Bar-El.
