The scan on that first one is pretty bad, actually; there’s supposed to be textures and stuff in the black, but you can’t see it at all. When my drawings start selling like hotcakes, first thing I’ll do is buy a better scanner, I guess.
Which raises an interesting question…what are hotcakes, exactly, and are they still selling even in this economy?
Aren’t they just pancakes…otherwise known as flapjacks or, if you prefer, hotcakes. I could be wrong.
My 95 year old grandmother used to make them for me with Bisquick, frying them and pouring syrup over the result. Less healthy than pancakes.
I really like the first piece. The second one is good too but the phallic nature of the first piece is interesting.
Ha! I didn't even get the phallic reference when I drew it. I was working off of some of the vertical Japanese print drawings originally. But yes, I see your point.
